Problem statement

Provide a personalized and flexible fitness experience to the users in terms of workout and diet plans while keeping them motivated to use the app continuously.

Pain points

👉 Workouts are not personalized enough.
👉 Lack of automation.
👉 Loose track and less motivation to start back.
👉 Diet plans are not personalized enough.

The solutions

The challenge was to create an integrated app for Gym coaches and their clients while addressing the above frustrating points. Following are the solutions we came up with.

To Personalize

It was much easier to provide a more personalized experience as the relevant workout plans and diet plans are prepared by the coaches for their clients. The workout plans and diet plans are different from client to client.

Workout videos are categorized under different workout plans according to the coach's instructions and by using interactive options provided, users can complete their workouts and keep a track of them easily.

To keep motivated

It is important to keep users motivated to use the app continuously even if they miss certain workouts. We came up with a flexible workout scheduling system to address this issue. Users are provided with a schedule to carry out their workouts. However, they have the flexibility to rearrange it according to their preferences which motivates them to start again from where they stopped. Flexibility helps them to get themselves back on track. Notifications are used to keep users engaged, informed, and motivated.

To enhance automation and extra support

Generally, most fitness apps ask users to log everything they eat each day. The lack of automation in this task makes it less interesting for the users, especially when it has to be done for a longer period.

In Maxx, personalized diet plans are provided instead of asking the users to log what they eat. A clear diet plan is provided for each meal along with many options. This provides the flexibility for the users to swap the given diet option with another one in the list according to their preferences.

The "Shopping list" is another option provided for users. The app provides all the details of a particular diet option, along with the ingredients included. Users have the chance to create a shopping list including all the items they need to buy for a particular diet plan in a particular workout session. This helps the user to motivate themselves to go ahead and buy food items they need for a healthy diet. This is fully automated and users are provided with many options to create a good shopping list. This would again help them to keep track of items they bought for their diet plans.

By using the above features we were able to address the issues users have in terms of flexibility, personalized experience, and motivation to continue workouts when using a fitness app.
